I don’t have many snazzy photos of myself. So I put on my wedding dress and gussied it up a bit! (It still fits, five years later. Yes, I’m proud of that!) I love my wedding dress, so I had a lot of fun putting it back on again for some fun, non-run-of-the-mill “wedding dress” photos!

Sometimes running a photography business makes me have moments like this…. so many pictures, such little time. Sometimes I neglect to allow myself time for pure, unpaid, inspirational “just-for-me” photo shoots. I think this is great for any professional photographer, or creative person for that matter. Sometimes a creative brain needs to just breath.
Starting my Click-ish Photographers club has been a great chance to allow that creativity to be released. It’s not that I am not thinking creatively when I am on a “normal” paid photo shoot, it’s just a different feeling shooting for myself and only myself. Plus, it is really fun for me to get in FRONT of the camera once in a while. It helps me learn to empathize with my clients when I know what they are going through trying to “pose” for the camera. Plus it was just downright fun to pose for the camera, I don’t get to do that very often! :) Here is a link to some more of our photos from our last get-together in my studio.

You are doing great!

Jeff and Abby!

It is so great to see the amazing work you are doing! I love seeing the pictures, creativitiy, and love for God and people through your work. Who knew that this would be such a blessing for you. May God continue to bless your business and your lives!~ Becky Clancy

Little Miss Elsie is seriously such a cutie. I had a great time in the studio with her a couple weeks ago and just love this shot. She has the coolest parents who braved the chilly studio with me and got some adorable photos. See the J.A. Laub Photography facebook page for more.

We’ve officially entered the blogging world

Hey everyone! I may be like 12 years late, but I have finally made it around to doing a blog for J.A. Laub Photography! Until now I’ve used my facebook page and have had success there, but I have for a long time wanted to start a blog for our business. There are always fun stories to tell about our photo shoots and the work we’re doing here based out of Lexington, Kentucky. We are in year four of the business and almost a year ago I was able to leave my full-time job and pursue photography in conjunction with freelance writing, gymnastics coaching and group fitness. It has been quite a ride! Thank you all for your support and for checking out our blog, hope you’ll follow us!

Abby in action for J.A. Laub Photography! This was from a wedding in Lake George last year, great time! Couldn’t beat the scenery up there in the fall.

This is another favorite of mine. This is my brand new niece from last summer. It was not a hired job, obviously…just hanging out with family, but it is one of my favorite photos.

One of my favorite photos of late, from a photo shoot this summer with my good friend Kerry and her fiance, Alan. We did the entire photo shoot on the river where they got engaged.
